Each year in the UK alone\, we are responsible for the submission of more than 100 funding applications across all sectors and priority areas. Based on this extensive experience\, through careful project selection and using key insight into how a project should be best positioned\, we consistently achieve success rates that are more than 5 times the typical success rates for UK national schemes and EU programmes. \nDr Claire Flanagan\, Senior Innovation Consultant \nClaire started her career as a synthetic chemist for a CRO carrying out custom synthesis projects on behalf of pharma clients. She then returned to academia to complete a PhD in directed evolution of biocatalysts before working initially as a researcher then as a project manager. This included managing the IBCarb network – a Phase 1 BBSRC Network in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (NIBB) and winning funding for and managing CarboMet\, a Horizon 2020 Coordination & Support Action. \nClaire joined PNO in 2019 and works closely with clients to develop innovative R&D project proposals for submission to various UK national (Innovate UK\, DSIT\, DESNZ\, DASA\, NIHR) and European funding (Eurostars\, Horizon Europe) competitions.
