London Life Sciences Week drew thousands of global investors, founders and sector leaders to the capital for six days of industry-led meetings and events. For Victoria House, the week showed just how quickly it has become a focal point for life sciences in London.
Since its official launch earlier this year, Victoria House has played an important role in London Life Sciences Week’s programme of events. The space hosted more than 500 visitors across a variety of gatherings, supporting collaboration, discussion and enabling connections between emerging companies and institutions supporting the sector’s development.
Investing with Intent
On Tuesday, Victoria House hosted Unlocking Alpha: Access, Insight & the Competitive Edge in Investing, a session organised by Invest in Equity that examined how recent policy shifts across the UK and Europe are influencing institutional capital.
The event introduced the Alpha Pipeline, a curated group of underrepresented VC managers in the life sciences sector, providing access to high-potential investment opportunities, established scientific networks and early-stage ventures across deeptech, healthtech and therapeutics.
Broadcasting from Bloomsbury
On Wednesday, a Victoria House heritage room was transformed into a studio for a live recording of BioCentury This Week, BioCentury’s popular podcast on biotech industry trends.
Analysts and senior figures including Stephen Hansen, professor of economics at UCL, Simone Fishburn, Editor in Chief at BioCentury, Carmine Circelli, Director of Direct Investments (Life Sciences) at British Business Bank, James Critchley, MD at PJT Partners and Luciana Griebel, partner at Morgan Lewis, sat down in front of an audience to explore market trends and how companies are positioning themselves for the year ahead.
The session, Cautious Optimism and M&A Momentum, formed part of the third Biotech CEO & Investor Reception, presented by BioCentury Inc., BioIndustry Association (BIA), Pioneer and Precision BioSearch.
A Full House for the Biotech CEO and Investor Reception
As Wednesday evening arrived, the Council Chamber filled for the Biotech CEO & Investor Reception, presented by the BioIndustry Association, BioCentury, Precision BioSciences and Pioneer.
Marking a proud moment for Victoria House, the event brought together around 100 attendees, with additional interest from more than 100 guests on the waiting list. The evening included discussions on financing routes, regulatory priorities and cross-border collaboration, before concluding with a networking reception and a traditional Scottish Ceilidh.
