Following a long and successful career, Dr. Kevin Thurlow-Criss joins the award-winning Kent Science Park as Site Director.
With over three decades of experience in the biomedical field, Kevin has worked across the private, educational and research sectors, including at Wellcome Biotech, Imperial College London, the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK and most recently, the University of East London. He initially worked on the quality assurance of vaccines and research in the immunology field, before subsequently moving into more operational roles.
Kevin also holds a number of qualifications and professional recognitions, including Fellowship of the Chartered Management Institute; Certified Member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management; and Member of the Institute of Science and Technology.
As Site Director, he will be physically based at the park at least once a week and will oversee all day-to-day functions across the park, assisted by the existing Park Management Team.
This appointment will complement Kevin’s existing role as National Director and Head of Science for MAPP, which he has held since March 2020. MAPP oversees a UK-wide portfolio of leading science parks, including Kent Science Park, based in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Kevin said of his new role: “I’m absolutely delighted to join the team at Kent Science Park as Site Director. My role will involve ensuring high standards of health and safety across the park; managing park teams; and ensuring the management and accuracy of all property management systems.
“I’m looking forward to developing a strategic plan for the park and ensuring all occupiers receive a great service. It will be great to get stuck in and help shape Kent Science Park in 2021 and beyond.”
