“Few geographical locations offer access to funding, an established supply chain, and labs and offices to rent, and – as we prepare for future growth – it’s reassuring to know that our expansion will not be constrained by space or access to skilled personnel.”

Teesside is wedged between County Durham and North Yorkshire following the curving path of the River Tees as it winds its way west from the northeast coast towards the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Surrounded by national parks and picturesque beaches, the Tees Valley is a picturesque setting for walking, cycling, riding or sailing. The largest city on Teesside is Middlesbrough, which was once the focal point of Teesside’s heavy industry. It is quickly becoming a success story of regeneration, in part, because of the growing credentials of Teesside University. The docklands have been transformed with waterfront restaurants, while Baker Street and Bedford Street are now lined with micropubs and vintage shops.

Teesside is attracting more and more businesses and university spin-outs from London and the South East, partially because of the lower cost of living.
