Join us for the launch of our Sustainable Chemicals  industry briefing note

For decades, the chemicals industry has benefited from abundant inexpensive fossil resources, providing reliable and cost-effective source of raw materials. However, as global temperatures continue to rise, transitioning to a more sustainable economy is no longer an option but an obligation. Sustainable carbon feedstocks, such as biomass, recycled carbon, and carbon dioxide, offer potential solutions but come with higher costs and technological challenges that
must be addressed.

This briefing note discusses the critical role of the chemicals industry in modern society and the urgent need to transition to a more sustainable, circular carbon economy.

This briefing note was created in conjunction with the chemicals sector community during a one-day Pioneer Presents workshop held in June 2024 at Pioneer’s Wilton Centre. Over 40 representatives from industry, academia, funding bodies, investors, and policymakers attended, contributing to developing a comprehensive action plan to support the transition to a sustainable chemicals industry in the UK.

In this online webinar you will hear from the key collaborators of the industry briefing note, and have the opportunity to ask our expert panel what’s next for the sustainable chemicals sector.
