The Department of Chemistry at The University of Manchester is holding a free-to-attend Academia-Industry event.

 

They will be highlighting the expertise within the department and aim to broaden their collaborative research and innovation with industry.

 

The day will involve key people from the Chemistry Department and School of Natural Sciences, industry, government and funding bodies along with sessions on the following themes:

 

• Chemistry Department Showcase: A session where each of the (six) research theme leads will highlight the cutting-edge research being undertaken within the Department of Chemistry and the wide range of expertise available to collaborators.

 

• UK and University Research and Innovation Ecosystem: A session devoted to the broader innovation ecosystem and the support for collaboration within the university, including the range of available routes for funding. There will be talks from CPI (Centre for Process Innovation), Innovate UK-KTN, and the Business Development team at UoM.

 

• Manchester Innovation, Commercialisation and Collaboration: A session on commercialisation of research, successful academic-industrial collaborations and the new exciting developments for innovation within the NW and Manchester. Including presentations from Northern Gritstone, ID Manchester and industrial collaborators.

 

The University’s Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange teams will be in attendance to present and discuss potential funding opportunities for industrial collaboration and there will also be posters and opportunities to discuss the research presented.

 

The event will be fully catered and includes coffee breaks, lunch and a drinks/networking session at the end of the day.
