Stay overnight at our guest accommodation – The Cottage Suites at Bush House

A 2.5km walk through historic woodland and paths made from the old carriageway, which circles the campus and offers panoramic views of the Pentland hills. It’s also a great running track for anyone who fancies blasting out a quick 5km in two laps!

Outdoor workout facilities include six timber cardio fitness stations, with bunny hops, parallel bars, horizontal ladders and chin-up bars. There are also weekly training sessions for those that work in the area on Wednesday lunchtimes. Find out more here.

The Cottage Suites (0 Miles)

A freshly refurbished beautiful accommodation property located within The Bush House Estate is now available to book your stay. The Cottage can accommodate up to 3 individuals travelling on business or up to 6 people sharing. There are three individual bedroom suites, each with an en-suite shower and w/c. Guests can enjoy the shared spaces of the cosy living room with TV and fully equipped kitchen with cooking facilities and a dishwasher. Ideal for a short visit or a longer-term stay. The Craigie (4 Miles)

The Craigie has 16 bedrooms, a restaurant, a stylish bar and lovely grounds. Craigie house was built in 1885, designed by George Washington Browne for the eminent zoologist James Cossar Ewart.  Ewart became the Professor of Natural History at Edinburgh University. He is remembered for his pioneering genetic work with zebras, which became known as “The Penicuik Experiment”. Photos of Professor Ewart with his zebras on the grounds can be found all around the hotel. More info.


Dalhousie Castle Hotel (7 Miles)

With over 700 years of history, Dalhousie Castle is the kind of place that could have been plucked from the pages of a fairy-tale. This ancient castle has a complex arrangement of turrets and towers. Once the seat of the Ramsay Clan, the castle boasts an illustrious guest list that includes King Edward I, Sir Walter Scott, Oliver Cromwell and Queen Victoria. Today the castle’s long tradition of hospitality continues at this fine four-star hotel.

The hotel has 29 en-suite guest bedrooms reached by a maze of staircases and secret passages. Please note that despite their best efforts it has not been possible to install a lift in the castle.

It is the first hydro spa of its kind in Scotland. The Aqueous Spa is a hi-tech thermal suite located in the castle basement, which includes a hydro pool, a Roman-style sauna, a Turkish inspired steam bath and a tropical rain and cold fog shower to invigorate and rejuvenate.
